Failure to Thrive When a child does not grow as most children do

Family Assistance Order (FAO) A Court order for a social worker or Cafcass officer to help a family

Family Centre A building where parents can see their children and get help

Family Proceedings Court (FPC) Place where people decide what happens to a child(ren). Part of the Magistrates' Court

Family Support Worker Someone from Children's Services who is not a Social Worker who comes into a person's home to help them

File and Serve Giving everyone involved copies of paperwork about your case and sending a copy to the court

Final Hearing Last time in Court (for the time being)

Financial Abuse In a family when someone takes someone's money, keeps them short of money or runs up debts in their names

Financial Dispute Resolution Hearing Attending Court to try and reach an agreement about money

Finding of Fact The judge listening to what is said and deciding what happened

First Directions Appointment First meeting at Court with the Judge

Forced Marriage Marrying someone you don't want to marry

Form E Form about a child who is about to be adopted

Foster Carers Approved person who your child lives with when removed from your care

Fracture Broken or cracked bone

Freezing Injunction Where a Judge tells someone they can't spend money
