What is an industrial disease?
Industrial diseases are caused as a result of working conditions
or materials used during work.
Examples include:
Asbestos related illnesses - caused as a result of exposure
to asbestos particles.
Vibration white finger this can be caused as a result
of using equipment which causes the whole of the body, or a
part, e.g. the arms, to vibrate.
Industrial deafness or noise induced hearing loss, is
the permanent loss or deterioration of hearing as a result of
noise at work

Serious injuries include conditions such as:
Brain injury
Head injury
Spinal injury
Neck injury
Loss of limb
Paralysis
