We are thrilled to announce we have partnered with Wirral Foodbank in order to provide essential ongoing support to those in need within our community. Read about what we have planned for the next year and how you can help.

We are proud to support the amazing team at the Wirral Foodbank through various initiatives and fundraising. Our team are in awe of the work the Trustees and Volunteers carry out each day to provide emergency food to local people in crisis.

Wirral Foodbank is a local charity that has been providing emergency food to local people in crisis since November 2011. They have supported 119, 511 since they opened their doors eleven years ago. They are seeded by the Trussell Trust.

Unfortunately, the use of foodbanks continues to skyrocket amid the cost of living crisis. In 2021/22 the Trussell Trust supplied 2.2 million three-day emergency food parcels – an increase of 14% compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019/20.

Studies show that the rise in the cost of living will have a worse effect on those already reliant on benefits or experiencing problems with health, accommodation, family circumstances, or a combination of different factors. These are the people already most likely to use a food bank. Without places like the Wirral Foodbank, many of these people who be wondering where their next meal was coming from.

What We Have Planned

We are excited to provide assistance to Wirral Foodbank over the coming weeks and months in a number of ways. Our Charity Committee have already planned various events, including:

  • Organising fundraisers to help ensure no one has to go hungry
  • Running food drives at our offices, encouraging staff and clients to donate
  • Holding team building days – volunteering at the foodbank to see how we can help

Local assistance of the Wirral Foodbank is vital to the running of the charity, both keeping the shelves stocked up and ensuring volunteers can provide the service that many in the community unfortunately require. We want to help tackle food poverty in the Wirral in any way we can.

We will provide updates throughout the next year and give details on how you can assist or where you can donate food.
