Employment Law Seminar - 29 April 2009

PHR Solicitors are holding a free employment seminar on 29 April 2009 in Bromborough, Wirral.

The seminar will cover such topics as the new ACAS code of practice (which replaces the Statutory Procedures relating to all disciplinary and dismissal issues), redundancy matters together with the compliance aspects of running a PAYE scheme and completion of P11Ds.

Will Aid 2008 Update

Following our participation in Will Aid 2008 we are delighted to confirm that the scheme across the country (including Gift Aid) has so far raised over £650,000 with donations still being received.

The money donated via the Will Aid Scheme is shared between nine participating Charities namely Action Aid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Help the Aged, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sight Savers International, SCIAF and Trocaire. For details of the Charities and their work, please look at the Will Aid website (www.willaid.org.uk).

As a firm we can confirm that over 30 people took part in the scheme and so far donations have reached £1,380.00. Will Aid have requested that we pass on their thanks to all those who participated in Will Aid.

If you did not participate in Will Aid we would remind you that making a Will and keeping it up to date is an important way of protecting family and loved ones in the future. Now is a particularly good time to review your Will arrangements, especially since changes have been made since last year in the Inheritance Tax regime.
